Why is the pH of my water increasing?

ClearBlue Ions are pH neutral, therefore they will not change the pH level in the water.

Salt chlorinators can cause the pH to increase. If you have a salt water pool, this is the most likely cause.

If you do not have a salt water pool, chlorine and other chemicals can cause pH to fluctuate. Bather oils, rainfall, leaves and other organic material in the water can also affect pH.

If your pH is fluctuating, ask your pool or hot tub retailer for the right treatment to bring it back into the recommended 7.2 to 7.6 range and help reduce fluctuations.

It’s important to check your pH level and adjust accordingly so that the chlorine is effective and the water is comfortable to your skin and eyes.
