Water is better with minerals
The ClearBlue pool ionizer hooks into your pool filtration system and releases microscopic mineral ions which assist in controlling bacteria and algae in pools and spas by augmenting the bactericidal and algicidal activity of primary disinfectants. This allows you to reduce the chlorine, algaecide and other chemicals. The ClearBlue Ionizer costs less than a salt chlorinator and ClearBlue mineral pools are less effort to maintain than traditional chlorine or salt water pools
Reduces chlorine requirement
Mineral pools require less chlorine than either salt water or traditional chlorine pools.
ClearBlue minerals assist in controlling bacteria and algae in pools and spas by augmenting the bactericidal and algicidal activity of primary disinfectants. It is like having an automated algaecide.
Chlorine and salt chlorinators affect the pH balance of the water. This means you constantly have to adjust the balance up or down using chemicals. ClearBlue mineral ions are completely neutral so pH stays in range longer.
Safe for your property
Salt is corrosive to some pool equipment and structures. Many manufacturers will void your warranty if you use salt. ClearBlue is completely harmless to your pool equipment, structure and landscaping.
Easy on your wallet
ClearBlue mineral pools cost less overall than salt water or traditional chlorine pools.
Minerals are compatible with salt
If you like your salt water pool but want to reduce the chlorine, minerals can help. Adding ClearBlue to your salt water pool allows you to turn down the chlorinator to the lowest setting which prolongs the life of your salt cell. Less chlorine generation means less pH balancing effort. Minerals also help the salt chlorinator keep up with algae on those sunny summer days.

How does it work?
ClearBlue releases microscopic mineral ions into the water to assist in controlling bacteria and algae in pools and spas by augmenting the bactericidal and algicidal activity of primary disinfectants.
Where does it go?
The ClearBlue system consists of a controller, a clear PVC tee and a mineral cell. The PVC tee is plumbed into your plumbing on the line that runs heated, filtered water into your pool or spa. The electrode is threaded into the tee and is connected to the controller with an electrical cable.
Where do the minerals come from?
The controller charges the two plates of the mineral cell with a precise electrical current. As the electrical current jumps from one plate to the other through the water, microscopic mineral particles are released. The electricity gives these particles a positive charge or ‘ionizes’ them which converts them into mineral ions.

For tips and tricks on how to maintain clean, clear water in your pool or hot tub – with less chemicals and less effort
1. ClearBlue recommends 0.5ppm – 1ppm chlorine in mineral pools and 0.5ppm – 5ppm in mineral spas. pH should be maintained at 7.2 – 7.8. Alkalinity should be maintained at 80ppm – 120ppm. Calcium hardness should be maintained between 200ppm – 400ppm. Total dissolved solids (TDS) should be maintained between 500ppm – 2,000ppm.
